Matt graduated Brunel University with a 1st Class BSc (Hons) Degree in Sports Science and successfully achieved a Dip. FTST in both Personal Training and Sports Therapy. Matt has over 20 years’ industry experience and is hugely passionate for health and fitness, sports performance and injury rehabilitation.

Matt has extensive experience working with a wide variety of client needs including soft tissue and physical treatment, prescribing corrective exercises, Kinesiology taping, tailored training programmes and 1-to-1 physical coaching.

Matt has previously worked as a Therapist at the CSSC Games, held at Loughborough and currently works delivering Sports Therapy for the high-level cycling racing team - Vredestein Basso who compete across the UK and Europe. As part of this role, over the past 5 years, Matt as attended the Tour Series races and other national events, as well as delivering training support at their training camps in Mallorca.

Matt, born on the Isla of Wight, was an athlete himself and completed as a sprinter for the Island team in Gotland and played for the Isle of Wight Hockey team for 5 years. These days, Matt remains hugely passionate about Athletics, Hockey and Cycling and understands the physical demands of training on your body and the importance of a periodised programme and adequate recovery.

Treatments and therapies:

Following a consultation and assessment to establish your strengths and weaknesses, every 1-to-1 programme is designed specifically with you and your goals in mind. The programme will evolve as you progress, and you will be re-tested and measured to ensure you are meeting your targets.

Depending on your goals, 1-to-1 Physical Coaching is normally delivered at the Club, in the Fitness Suite, Rehab Room, Exercise Studio or Swimming Pool.

1-to-1 Training

Costs:

First session (up to 1 hour assessment which will include initial form of treatment depending on the needs of the individual. Also including creation of a follow up plan if needed): £50.00

All follow up sessions priced as follows, which will consist of one or several therapies, depending on individual needs as discussed in assessment:

1 hour session: £45.00

½ hour session: £30.00

15 mins (kinesiology taping only): £15.00

All levels

These classes have been specifically designed to allow participants to work at their own intensity level, with the ability to modify all exercises according to their own personal fitness.

Beginner

A person new to training or an individual with below average fitness levels can be termed as a beginner. These classes are also suitable for those returning to exercise after a break/injury.

Intermediate

A person training at intermediate level should have a fair amount of base fitness and coordination and thus can be exposed to a higher intensity workout.

Advanced

At an advanced level, the participant should have experience in subjecting themselves to high intensity training on a regular basis. Every person starting off as a beginner should aspire to reach this level.
