Bicycle Island

The Isle of Wight has been named by the Lonely Planet Travel Guide as one of the top 10 destinations in the world for cycling. With over 200 miles of cycle paths, exploring the Island’s beautiful landscape and rugged coastline couldn’t be easier. Our team have put together a series of recommended cycling routes, graded according to their level of difficulty, for total beginners through to advanced cyclists.

To make sure you get the very best cycling experience, hire our cycle guide, Martin. Take the stress out of navigation and just enjoy the ride and the stunning scenery. Martin will plan your route around your needs, whether you want to make a pit stop for delicious local food, enjoy a leisurely family outing or be taken to the best spots to photograph our dramatic coastline – Martin is a real expert who will ensure you get the most out of your ride.

Pop up food

During school holidays we welcome our favourite local food specialists.

This October half-term we are delighted to welcome back The Isle of Wight Street Food Company on Tuesday 29th October & Thursday 31st October.

The Isle of Wight Street Food Company have been visiting West Bay for the last 4 years and are always a popular choice with our guests. The menu varies according to local ingredients available, but you can expect delicious dishes like Thai red curry made from their own special recipe Thai paste, pulled pork or pulled mushroom burgers using their unique spice rub, and delicious tagines.

Relax and unwind

That’s the kids sorted! Whilst the children are having fun, you’ll be free to enjoy a little me-time. Why not escape to the Island Wellness Spa, take a dip in our heated indoor pool or get active in one of the fitness classes.

A person new to training or an individual with below average fitness levels can be termed as a beginner. These classes are also suitable for those returning to exercise after a break/injury.

A person training at intermediate level should have a fair amount of base fitness and coordination and thus can be exposed to a higher intensity workout.

At an advanced level, the participant should have experience in subjecting themselves to high intensity training on a regular basis. Every person starting off as a beginner should aspire to reach this level.
