Yoga Therapy WITH JENNY
Yoga therapy is the application of yoga practices to alleviate physical and mental health conditions with the view of promoting self-care and encouraging overall well-being. Whilst the practice of yoga in general aims to cultivate the body and mind and hence has the potential for therapeutic effects, in yoga therapy we are using specific yoga practices and their known benefits to help alleviate or improvement mental and physical ailments.
The yogic model of health is unique because it addresses every aspect of life rather than considering each body part or system separately. Yoga therapy is a safe way of working with the natural capacity of your body and mind to optimise wellbeing.
Yoga Therapy can help with the following conditions:
- Reduce and resolve dysfunctional movement patterns
- Enhance muscular strength and body flexibility
- Mobilise and releases tension
- Promote and improve respiratory and cardiovascular function
- Reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain
- Improve sleep patterns
- Change your relationship with pain, injury and illness
- Enhance overall well-being
Sessions may include breathing techniques, postures, meditation, relaxation techniques, or the promotion of behavioural changes. Yoga Therapy Treatments are available every Thursday.
Sessions start from £40.
NIS Practitioner (Neurological Integration)
Are you suffering with discomfort in your spine, lower back or neck? Guy joins us each Tuesday, so why not book in for a session? Using a range of techniques with an emphasis on manipulation of the spine, Guy will use his skills in manual therapy to target discomfort in your joints to leave you feeling well again. Guy also has over 10 years of experience in Applied Kinesiology; a ‘muscle response testing’ technique that involves gentle contacts on the bodies’ acupuncture points to determine the strength or weakness of a muscle.
NIS uses kinesiology or muscle response testing to find and re-integrate neural circuits that should normally govern all aspects of body function. Specific gentle contacts on your head and body enable your brain to retake control of those dormant pathways. This approach deals with your whole body including symptoms such as:
- Back, leg, neck and shoulder pain
- Head and facial pain
- Balance and coordination
- Digestion and fatigue
- Learning issue
NIS effectively improves efficiency of brain-body communication and ultimately your quality of life.
