Spring is just around the corner, and as the first daffodils and blooms are spotted, it’s time to clear out the cobwebs and kick-start our health and fitness routine! Whether you’re simply looking to feel more energised by Easter or to get stuck in and slim down for Summer, follow The West Bay Country Club’s top 5 tips on getting active this Spring and you will be feeling body confident in no time! 1. Exercise with a friend Exercising with a friend can really help take the edge off those dreaded workouts. Going for regular walks and chatting along the way, or taking part in group activities like dancing or tennis can help you to take your mind off the strain. It’s also a great way to catch up with old friends or make new ones! 2. Walk where possible As those dark and dreary Winter days start to drift away, embrace the sunshine whenever you can. Taking a revitalising morning stroll before work is great for focusing the mind and increasing our energy levels in preparation for the day ahead. Or why not take a relaxing stroll on your lunch break? Walking is a natural mood elevator and can really help us to turn around bad days at work. 3. Choose something you enjoy It’s important to try and choose activities that you like doing. It will make the experience much more enjoyable! In turn, you’ll become much more motivated to ‘get up and go’ during those sluggish days. 4. Have an incentive Having an end goal is essential for helping you to keep focused and motivated. Making things like charts and tables that allow you to track your progress are great ways to monitor all your hard work. Why not set yourself personal targets and reward yourself each time you meet or exceed them? Buying physical items like a new pair of shoes or a bag are a great physical reminder of how much you’ve achieved. 5. Take a break Taking breaks are nearly as important as exercising itself. It’s important to give your body time to recover and also to take a mental break from the pressure. Therefore, when you go on holiday or spend time with friends at the weekend – enjoy yourself! All levels

These classes have been specifically designed to allow participants to work at their own intensity level, with the ability to modify all exercises according to their own personal fitness.

Beginner

A person new to training or an individual with below average fitness levels can be termed as a beginner. These classes are also suitable for those returning to exercise after a break/injury.

Intermediate

A person training at intermediate level should have a fair amount of base fitness and coordination and thus can be exposed to a higher intensity workout.

Advanced

At an advanced level, the participant should have experience in subjecting themselves to high intensity training on a regular basis. Every person starting off as a beginner should aspire to reach this level.

Online booking is available for members for classes, activities and spa treatments.
