The evening will combine practical tips and exercises from the worlds of mindfulness, CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and reiki. Enjoy a taster of meditation, holistic therapy, breathe work, CBT techniques and reiki.
How often do you catch yourself either ‘rushing’ or ‘doubting’? You will find that almost every negative state falls into one of these two categories. Notice how these actions are contractions in your body, causing tightness and constriction, perhaps in your belly, heart, hands, eyes.
The word “mindfulness” tends to conjure up images of sitting cross-legged on the floor meditating….but fear not, because in this workshop we won’t be holding long periods of silence. We will look at some simple practices that you can apply to everyday living that will make your day more productive and your sleeping more restful.
Everyday life provides us with endless opportunities for us to STOP, TO FOCUS, to remind ourselves to be fully awake and present to what is happening NOW. We will look at a few activities from your daily life that you can turn into ‘mindfulness bells’, an opportunity for you to slow down, become present and recognise how we have become stuck on auto pilot, when instead you have the opportunity to re-programme your brain, and SIMPLY BE. We will look at a few simple practices to help you to achieve a more attentive and efficient lifestyle.
The CBT section of the evening will focus on how you can free up time for yourself. Very often we fall into a pattern of working and looking after family and leave no time for ourselves. We will look at the ratio of work, rest and play activities that make up our week and examine the benefits of introducing some time for ourselves. You will also learn some top tips on the best way to plan and schedule new activities and what to do if we get side-tracked by unforeseen activities.
We hope to see you there!
