New Tennis Express Clinics

Lead by Head Tennis Coach Martyn Bailey who is a level 4 LTA Senior Performance Coach. These will run for 4 weeks per block, with a maximum of 4 per group and will consist of detailed technical work of the specific shot advertised.

FOREHAND CLINIC

Starting Thursday 15th November: 1-2pm

The forehand in the game is typically the strongest shot but often the easiest shots are missed yet the more difficult shorts are executed well. This clinic focuses on hitting the correct shot for different situations. Tactical points of the clinic include: more power from mid-court balls, attacking slow balls, creating angles from low balls, winning the point with the forehand, hitting with spin.

BACKHAND CLINIC

Starting Wednesday 14th November: 1-2pm

Backhand made easy! Improve your backhand with our top tips in the Backhand Clinic. Learn to drive the ball through the court and create a greater sense of control of the backhand. The backhand in the game of tennis is typically weaker than the forehand – both at club level and pro level tennis. Turn your backhand into a weapon!

VOLLEY CLINIC

Starting Tuesday 13th November: 10-11am

“Racket out in front”, “Too much swing”. These are all phrases that you hear coaches say time and time again. This 4 -week course will teach the fundamentals of hitting an effective volley along with dispelling some of the myths that are associated with this shot. Start to feel more comfortable at the net and this will help with building and finishing points to gain greater success!

All levels

These classes have been specifically designed to allow participants to work at their own intensity level, with the ability to modify all exercises according to their own personal fitness.

Beginner

A person new to training or an individual with below average fitness levels can be termed as a beginner. These classes are also suitable for those returning to exercise after a break/injury.

Intermediate

A person training at intermediate level should have a fair amount of base fitness and coordination and thus can be exposed to a higher intensity workout.

Advanced

At an advanced level, the participant should have experience in subjecting themselves to high intensity training on a regular basis. Every person starting off as a beginner should aspire to reach this level.

Online booking is available for members for classes, activities and spa treatments.
