Andrew has played over 15 years as a professional Ice Hockey Player and understands the importance of having a focused and effective training programme in order to achieve your goals. Andrew is a qualified Level 3 personal trainer with over 19 years’ experience working in the Health & fitness industry. As well as being a Personal Trainer, Andrew is also qualified to take many exercise classes, including Body Pump, Kettlebells, Insanity and Spinning. Andrew’s extensive knowledge and experience allows him to offer a full and rounded approach to fitness which is guaranteed to take the boredom out of training. Effective recovery is as important as training hard in achieving success with any training programme and as a Level 3 Qualified Sports Masseur and a Level 2 kinesiology taping professional, Andrew is best placed to ensure your body stays fit and ready for action.

Jenny Andrews-Smith – Yoga Teacher and Rehab Trainer As one of the leading Yoga teachers on the island, Jenny’s passion, experience and dedication in the practice of Yoga is evident in all that she teaches. As one of the Island’s most experienced Yoga teachers, Jenny has completed 200hrs training with Yogini Anne-Marie Newland, the founder of Sun Power Yoga, as well as over 500+hrs teaching experience. Jenny is a Certified Level 3 Yoga Teacher and is registered as an Advanced Trainer with the Register of Exercise Professionals and Yoga Alliance. As well as being a yoga teacher, Jenny is a qualified Rehab Trainer and Yoga Therapist who is trained to help maximise rehabilitating process from injury. Jenny’s training allows her to draw on a large variety of Yoga styles, including Ashtanga Vinyasa (heat, power, flexibility), Hatha (alignment), Sivananda (subtle mind and breath work), to enable her to offer Yoga bespoke to the individual needs of the client. According to Jenny, “Yoga can benefit everyone, whether you’re looking to improve strength, endurance, flexibility, balance, focus, breath awareness, or rehabilitation from an illness or an injury. Steve Holloway – Fitness Professional Steve has over 10 years’ experience as a County Tri-Athlete and 5 years’ experience competing in Tae Kwon Do, where he has obtained First Dan Black Belt. Steve’s dedication to training has recently been in evidence when he successfully completed the Outlaw Iron Man in 11 hours which is no easy feat. As well as being a Level 3 Personal Trainer, Stan has extensive training and knowledge in many areas including Spinning, Kettlebells, Combat, Advance Strap Training, Cross-Training and Aqua-Fit. As a keen Mountain Biker, Steve has also achieved the CTC – Trail Leader Qualification and can offer guided Mountain Bike rides for the more adventurous who’s looking for something a little different. He also has a Level 2 British Cycling Coaching qualification allowing him to instruct cycling skills and activities and also has a Level 2 ASA Swimming Teacher Qualification where he has gained much experience teaching to pupils of all ages and abilities to confidently swim. Kevin Read – Fitness Professional Kevin is a keen long distance athlete who has completed two Iron-Man competitions in recent years, including the most recent Outlaw Iron Man, which incorporates a 2.4 mile Swim, 112 mile Cycle and a 26.6 mile run. As a fully qualified level 3 Personal Trainer and Spinning instructor, Kevin’s training style incorporates many aspects of his own routine, which has proved so effective. As a qualified Rehab Trainer, Kevin can also tailor sessions that can help aid in the recovery of Injury. As a qualified FA level 3 Youth football coach, Kevin can also be found leading the way in our weekly football fun sessions. Larni Murthwaite – Fitness Professional and Dance Teacher After completing a BA Honours Degree in Dance & Performance in 2007, Larni embarked on a professional dance career performing both in the UK and abroad in hotels, theatres and holiday resorts. During this time she also shared her love of over twenty years of dancing through teaching to children and adults of all ages in a range of dance styles. In 2014 Larni changed her focus to fitness & gym instruction, where she is now not only qualified as a Level 3 PT Instructor but continues to instruct various dance classes but is also qualified in instructing Zumba, Aqua gym, studio weights, step aerobics, circuits, spinning and PiYo. Matt McClelland – Fitness Professional and Personal Trainer The West Bay Country Club, Personal Training Matt – a former sprinter competing in the Island Games in 1995 and representing the Isle of Wight as a member of the IOW Hockey Team – brings a wealth of experience to his role as a Personal Trainer. Matt completed a Sports Science degree at Brunel University and went on to work as a gym instructor, followed by gym manager and personal trainer in Central London. He set up his own business in 2010 in North-East Hampshire before returning to live on the Island. Matt also works with the Morvelo Basso Racing Team providing massage and support work for cyclists both in the U.K and in Mallorca. Assisting clients in achieving their goals such as improved fitness and toning, weight management and sports training at a pace and approach which works best for them, Matt offers one-one sessions, partner sessions and sports massage. He is also qualified in Taping techniques, Kettlebell training, Olympic Weightlifting, Pre and Post- Natal exercise, Pad work and Studio cycle. 1st Class BA (Hons) degree in Sports Science; Dip. All levels

These classes have been specifically designed to allow participants to work at their own intensity level, with the ability to modify all exercises according to their own personal fitness.


A person new to training or an individual with below average fitness levels can be termed as a beginner. These classes are also suitable for those returning to exercise after a break/injury.


A person training at intermediate level should have a fair amount of base fitness and coordination and thus can be exposed to a higher intensity workout.


At an advanced level, the participant should have experience in subjecting themselves to high intensity training on a regular basis. Every person starting off as a beginner should aspire to reach this level.
